A self taught potter, Sherrill combines references to archetypal forms and shapes, such as Southern whiskey jugs, with contemporary design. He reassembles the teapot's basic elements, forming them into a sculptural object, by explorations in the use of color, surface, line and shape. "I want my pots to pull people in and then play with perceptions."
